About The Artist
Peter St. Lawrence is an Oakland-based ceramic artist whose work bridges the worlds of sculpture, design, and spatial aesthetics. He received a BFA in Sculpture from the California College of the Arts in 2001 and was a founder, director, and exhibition curator at FM, an art gallery and community of artist studios in Oakland.
Peter also established St. Lawrence Design, which provides art direction for luxury brands including Cartier, Neiman Marcus, and Land Rover, among others.
St. Lawrence’s ceramic works are characterized by their organic shapes and tactile surfaces, often blending influences from mid-century modernism and ancient sculptural traditions. His pieces range from tabletop forms to larger-scale installations, and they have been exhibited at institutions including the de Young Museum, Vessel Gallery, Aimee Friberg Exhibitions, and SLATE Contemporary, where he has shown regularly since 2018.
