Late 19th century Victorian armchair with woven cane seat and painted dark wood frame. Delicate gilt floral and foliage decorations extend across the back rails, frame, and legs. Gracefully curved arms and turned front legs lend to the pieces pared-back form.
From the estate of Margaret G. Huntington, by descent from her mother-in-law, Marian Prentice Huntington, daughter of American industrialist Henry E. Huntington and Mary Alice Huntington.
Measures 33" H x 21" W x 16.5" D. Seat height measures 17".
In excellent antique condition. Wear and patina are consistent with age and use.
