The 'NY' Folding Chair And Ottoman By Takeshi Nii, Japan C. 1950's/'60s. Expertly crafted from tubular chrome, maple, and canvas, the 'NY' chair is a highly respected example of modern design and a permanent part of the collection of MOMA.

 

Inspired by foldaway director's chairs, the 'NY' Chair and Ottoman folds into a slender, portable size. Built of lightweight materials, the chair can be transported from the home to garden or beach with ease. These lounge chairs and ottomans are highly regarded for their enduring comfort and function. Chair measures 22" W x 29" D x 36" H. Seat height 11".

 

Ottoman measures 17.5" W x 16.5" D x 16.5" H.

 

Significant sun fading and wear on ottoman, as noted in photographs. Some tearing in the fabric on the upper left corner of chair and base of ottoman. Minor nicks and light scratches on maple arms. Tubular chrome in excellent condition.
