Japanese Lacquered and Gilt Buddhist Altar Panel. Meiji period. Intricately crafted panel featuring a carved and painted central figure of a Bodhisattva, standing on a lotus pedestal. The background is richly textured and gilded, with repeating chrysanthemum motifs. Originally designed for private worship or display within a home altar, the piece includes a metal loop for wall hanging.

In beautiful antique condition. Gentle, time-worn patina present on gilt.
