Rare 19th-century Chinese painted wood chest, timeworn and deeply patinated. Crafted of solid wood with original brass corner mounts, hand-forged handles, central hasp and lock plate, and interior drawer pulls. Inside, a single shelf and two small drawers offer clever storage.
Measures 23" H x 23" W X 15" D.
In antique condition. Wear commensurate with age is present, including small chips and a soft, natural patina that enhances the chest’s character and authenticity.
