Beautiful hand-carved wooden stool from the Ashanti (Asante) people of Ghana, part of the Akan cultural tradition. The stool features a gently curved seat supported by stacked geometric forms, a design symbolic of strength and continuity. Traditionally, stools such as this were central to daily life as well as ceremony, believed to hold the spirit of their owner.
