Working primarily with ink on paper, her practice centers on hand drawing as both a meditative discipline and an exploration of abstraction, materiality, and nature.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRaised among artists connected to Black Mountain College, Johansen was deeply influenced by M.C. Richards and Paulus Berensohn, whose philosophies of craft and creative practice continue to inform her work. Formally trained at the University of Southern California School of Architecture, she has collaborated with leading architecture, interiors, hospitality, and design studios including Frederick Fisher and Partners, Nicole Hollis, Studio Collins Weir, Intelligentsia Coffee, The Meteor, Black Ink, and Broc Cellars.
